CEBU CITY, Philippines — Omega Boxing Gym’s Benny “The Bull” Cañete made his first appearance in professional boxing at the hands of Kenneth “Rubber Boy” Rover in a ten-round showdown for the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) bantamweight title. Meanwhile, the 22-year-old Cañete, based in Cebu, Siquijor, slipped to a 7-1 record with six knockouts.

Cañete, known as the brawler, put pressure on Rovers throughout the match by pushing forward and throwing combinations.

He was able to pin Llover to the ropes many times during the match, but it was difficult to land clean shots.

Llover, on the other hand, delivered sharp jabs perfectly, knocking Cañete back on the head several times. He also landed the straight on target perfectly, piling up his points.

Llover sneaks in timely jabs and straights as Cañete pushes forward.

Both boxers had several ferocious exchanges, especially in the final seconds of the final round, with Llover landing more defined blows.
