Last week tested my fervent optimism. I’m not going to mention the frog genocide in California beyond this reference. What about TCU men’s basketball in West Virginia? not to worry.
We lost halfway through to a team that hadn’t yet won a match in conference play. And now we’re playing No. 2 Kansas. on the road.
I would like to bring you better news.
That being said, don’t underestimate the horned toad’s heart. Our boys exceeded all expectations last season. That was the general theme of Horned Frog sports in general.
And we have one reason to be optimistic. A friend of mine, Sarah Henkle, told me that Kansas actually beat Kansas by her 83-82. And we beat Kansas State to her 82-68 (I insist she bring up the Big 12 championship because she’s a deplorable sadist).
Good losses build character. So people tell me I never thought to believe it. Losing taught me one thing. And the victory taught me something else. I like to win
