Lena Cyrano changed the history of women’s Long Beach State soccer, having been selected by the Washington Spirit with the 34th overall pick in last week’s NWSL Draft and now heading into the professional ranks.

Cyrano has eight multi-goals, the most in LBSU history, and ranks 5th in goals won with 10, 7th with 27 and 7th with a total of 64 goals. Her 16 goals last year tied her program record for one season, and her 38 points were her third-most. She also scored her ninth hat-trick in program history and tied for the most points in a single game with three goals and assists against UCSD this season (7).

LBSU coach Mauricio Ingracia said, “Lena Cyrano is the story of an era after playing just 61 minutes as a freshman and going to the NWSL draft.” It proves that you can achieve anything you set your mind to.”

Silano is a two-time All-West Region selection, two-time All-Big West First Team selection, and rounded out as the 2022 Big West Offensive Player of the Year. She also earned five top drawer soccer her Team of the Week honors and her four Big West Player of the Week honors.

LBSU also selected defender Kaitlyn Flegria in the 2021 NWSL Draft.
