The problem is that Chris Eubank Jr. is the bigger, stronger man, as Smith moved up the weight class recently.

Chris Eubank Jr. will enter this match on a five-game winning streak. Much like Smith, Eubank Jr. has said too much about his failure to win big with the belt at age 32. Recently, Roy Jones Jr. took on the role of Eubank’s “trainer”. The problem is that Jones Jr. teaches a more passive style that doesn’t match Eubank Jr.’s personality and power. Eubank Jr.’s previous fights have been sloppy footwork and poor technique.

Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Liam Smith Boxing odds: Eubank (-290), Smith (+225), O/U 10.5 rounds

This fight is so confusing. Liam Smith is a pressure fighter. In a typical fight, Chris Eubank Jr. controls the tempo. Chris Eubank Jr.’s physique and strength make him a bad matchup for Smith, but what if Eubank Jr. followed his new trainer’s lead? Not good enough as a fighter. Eubank Jr. could be lured into the fight in his old fashioned way by Smith’s aggressive style. It actually suits him best.

I think this fight will turn into an exciting mess. I think if Smith wins, it’s a point, and if Eubank Jr. wins, it’s a KO. Ultimately, I think Eubank Jr. knows he’s going to live up to his father’s world champion status, so he has a greater drive to win. Eubank Jr. has excellent hand speed and I think he could find some uppercuts through Smith’s guard and late he could set up a round KO finish.
