st.Charles, Missouri– The Lindenwood women’s basketball team lost to Southern Indiana Thursday night at Highland Arena by a final score of 60-73.

The Lions had a strong first period of shooting against the Screaming Eagles, collecting 46.2% from the floor, while the visiting team managed to shoot slightly better with a 55.6% field goal percentage. At the end of his first ten minutes, Lindenwood saw him trail 13-23.

The Lions edged the Screaming Eagles from both the floor and the 3-point line, compiling a 45.5% field goal percentage and a 40.0% 3-point percentage, as opposed to the USI’s 36.4% and 0.0% respectively. Lindenwood also forced his six turnovers while limiting his own turnover count to just two, scoring three steals and giving USI zero steals against them.

Lindenwood also won the third quarter offensively, shooting 41.7% from the floor versus USI’s 31.3%. Southern Indiana was able to pass Lindenwood on the board, and he scored 11 as opposed to Lindenwood’s nine total rebounds, but the Lions did not allow him to score five heading into the final quarter of the play. It didn’t matter as we only drew small points.

McGrath had a great fourth quarter after scoring a total of 9 points. Devin Furing Just behind her on 7, she became the only Lions to score in the 4th quarter. Southern Indiana was able to break out enough in the final minutes of the game to extend their lead into the final seconds of the quarter.
