The Sacramento Kings have been one of the biggest stories of the 2022-23 NBA season so far, going 25-18 on the current season, the third best record in the Western Conference.
De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis both have All-Star-like seasons in Sacramento, and head coach Mike Brown is putting together a very strong case for being the league’s Coach of the Year.
All in all, the season has been hugely successful for the Kings so far, and with an open roster spot, the Kings seem open to adding even more backcourt depth.
The Kings, who signed PJ Dozier to a 10-day contract earlier this month, announced on Thursday that they have signed Dozier to another 10-day deal, keeping him with the team through January 28.
Dozier, 26, played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets before joining the Kings after a six-year NBA career.
He was also a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves for a brief period before the start of the 2022-23 season, while Dodger was also traded to the Orlando Magic last season and then waived.
In three games in Sacramento, Dodger scored three points from three-point range to go 1-2 in seven minutes total.
Showing off his potential and athleticism, PJ Dodger is an interesting player the Kings will consider signing for the rest of the season.
But with the Kings already showing backcourt talent in the likes of De’Aaron Fox, Davion Mitchell, Terrence Davis and Matthew Dellavedova, it’s unlikely Dodgers will get guaranteed deals for the rest of the 2022-23 season. It will be interesting to see how.
