Teofimo Lopez Sr. criticizes Garbonta Davis for not fighting champion

Teofimo Lopez Sr. took time out to video chat with members of the media. In this conversation captured by Fight Her Hype, Lopez Sr. shares her thoughts on the recent fight between Gelbonta Davis and Hector Her Luis Garcia.

Needless to say, Lopez Sr was unimpressed by Davis’ performance, specifically pointing out Davis’ run as the second title holder unwilling to fight the actual champion. Check out some of Lopez Sr’s remarks below.

If Lopez Sr. sees the Garbonta Davis vs. Hector Luis Garcia fight and his thoughts

“Buddy, all that shit was bullshit,” Lopez Sr. said. “My son just beat the guy who retired Mikey Garcia and everyone was saying ‘Theo didn’t see’ or ‘Theo was supposed to knock this guy out.’ Fighting trying to fight, there was no chance of dropping this guy.

“I was like, every time you hit this guy in the body, he was just running. After the body shot, the momentum stops, so you have to start shifting. Left hook with your left foot.” You have to start throwing, which no one does in boxing, and for some reason he wasn’t doing it, but he understands…

“They don’t speak ill of them [like Davis] It’s not fighting anyone.Like I didn’t even know who this guy was [that Davis was fighting]Every time Tank fought someone, I don’t know who they were.And it won on Raleigh.That shit was like Raleigh wasn’t a champion. pretended to have defeated Floyd Mayweather. ”

On whether to credit Davis for beating Ryan Garcia

“No, why are you chasing Ryan? You chasing money, bro. We want the program, but we can’t get the money we need from Prograis, so why would you put your son in Prograis when you can’t make a million dollars?
