Jan. 19 – Steven Adams returns a missed Ja Morant layup to Dillon as time runs out for the Memphis Grizzlies to beat the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers 115-114, 115-114. Brooks blocked Darius Garland’s desperate 3-point attempt.

The 11-game winning streak ties Memphis’ franchise record and falls short of Brooklyn’s 12-game streak, the longest NBA record this season.

The Grizzlies rallied with 1:14 remaining after Evan Mobley hit a turnaround hook and a 6-footer to put Cleveland up 114-111.

Desmond Bain led Memphis with 25 points, including a 5-of-8 shooting from a 3-point range, while Morant finished with 24 points and 8 assists. Garland scored 24 points and 14 assists, and scored 3-point tries his fifth, giving Cleveland the lead.

Nuggets 122, Timberwolves 118

Nikola Jokic had 31 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds while Jamal Murray had 28 points, including a go-ahead basket in the final minute, as hosts Denver defeated Minnesota.

Jazz 126, Clippers 103

Lauri Markkanen returned to the lineup and pushed Utah to Los Angeles with 34 points and 12 rebounds in Salt Lake City.

After missing two games with a back problem, Markkanen recorded 11-of-20 field goal attempts, 6-of-8 3-point shots, and 6-of-6 free throws. Utah won his fourth in five games, leveling the record at 24-24.

Norman Powell leads the short-handed Clippers with 30 points. Los Angeles played without Paul George (rest), Kawhi Leonard (rest), John Wall (abdominal injury) and Luke Kennard (calf pain).

Kings 116, Lakers 111

De’Aaron Fox scored 31 points and Harrison Barnes added 20 points.

Kevin Harter scored 18 points for the Kings, but the Kings advanced by halftime after being 14 points down in the first quarter. Sacramento won without Domantas Sabonis, the second-most scorer and top rebounder who had been sidelined due to illness other than COVID.

LeBron James scored 32 and Russell Westbrook scored 19 as the Lakers lost for the fourth time in five games.

Thunder 126, Pacers 106

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Isaiah Joe each scored 23 points to help hosts Oklahoma City beat Indiana. The Thunder posted his 41 assists, tying the highest total since the franchise moved out of Seattle in 2008.

Rugenz Dort added 22 points and a career-high 11 rebounds to extend the Thunder’s winning streak to four. Oklahoma City has won 6 of the last 7.

Andrew Nemhad had 18 points and seven assists for the Pacers, who are losing five games in a row.

Hawks 130, Mavericks 122

Dejounte Murray scored 30 points, 11 of them in the 4th quarter, leading the Atlanta-visiting team to a rare victory in Dallas. Atlanta extended his winning streak to four games, but Dallas lost his third straight, his fifth fall in six games.

Murray made a 3-pointer with 1:50 left in the fourth to give the Hawks a 4-point lead. Trae Young closed out the game with a basket and four free throws in the final minute to hold on to the win and allow Atlanta to end their four-game losing streak in Dallas.

Murray went 12-for-18 from the field, adding 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Young had 18 points and 12 assists for his 20th double-double of the season. Dallas was led by Luka Doncic, who had 30 points and eight assists but only shot 2-for-8 on 3-point attempts.

Heat 124, Pelicans 98

Bam Adebayo scored 26 points as the Heat dominated New Orleans from start to finish, at one point leading the shorthanded Pelicans by as much as 30.

Jimmy Butler had 18 points, Max Strath had 16 points and 10 assists, and Gabe Vincent had 16 points, the largest margin of victory of the season. The result was also New Orleans’ most lopsided defeat.

With 21 points for CJ McCollum and 18 points and 10 rebounds for Jonas Valanciunas, the Pelicans remained injury-free for Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and Herbert Jones Jr.

Wizards 116 Knicks 105

Kyle Kuzma had 27 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists as his visit to Washington started fast and he didn’t win over New York.

It was the Wizards’ second win in seven games. Leading in double digits most of the time, he held off a few comeback attempts in New York with a gap of 17. Kuzma, who scored 40 points in Washington’s four-point loss to New York on Friday, scored 11 points in the fourth round and helped the Wizards recover.

Former Nick Kristaps Porzingis added 22 and 11 rebounds before fouling out. Bradley Beal returned with 18 points after a hamstring injury saw him miss five games. Jalen Branson lost 11-13 at home to the Knicks, though he had 16 of 32 games in the third round.

Hornets 122, Rockets 117

Terry Rozier scored a team-leading 26 points and Charlotte overcame a LaMelo Ball loss to record a road victory over Houston and snap a five-game skid.

PJ Washington had 16 points and 8 rebounds for the Hornets, while Mason Plumlee and rookie Mark Williams each scored 17 points. Ball departed early in the third quarter with a sprained left ankle after scoring 13 points.

Jaylen Green scored a career-high 41 points and added seven assists as the Rockets lost their 12th straight game. Alperensengan tallied his 24 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists.
