The Batesville Middle School Boys seventh grade basketball traveled to Greendale Middle School in the first round of the SEI tournament, where they lost 32-35. The first half started slowly as the Bulldogs only scored four points in the first quarter. The second quarter didn’t do much for the Bulldogs either, as they flipped a ball that turned into a point for the Tigers. The Bulldogs went into the locker room and lost by 11. Halftime was a game changer as the Bulldogs regrouped and never gave up. The effort of the Bulldogs, who lost by 11 margins, was remarkable. The Bulldogs’ excellent defense, especially Levi Hunt, was able to keep the leading scorer down to his two points in the second half. The Bulldogs opened the scoring on the offensive side and were able to enter the 4th quarter after losing by 6. Lead with less than 10 seconds remaining. The Bulldogs could see to tie the match, but time ran out. Extraordinary effort is put into these young men because they never gave up. This concludes the Bulldogs’ 11-10 season. Leading the scoring tonight were Levi Hunt with 8, Carson Meyer with 7, Jackson Peetz and Camden with Kaiser with 6, Winston with Garrett with 3 and Eli Denny with 2.
