The full fight card for ONE Championship’s historic first event at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium has been confirmed.
On Friday, January 20, ONE Friday Fights 1 will bring a mix of Muay Thai and MMA to the iconic venue in Bangkok, Thailand, where local legends will compete live alongside elite athletes from around the world during prime time in Asia.
The 140-pound catchweight Muay Thai battle culminated in Seksan Oh’s fierce battle. Kwang Muang and Tyson Harrison.
Seksan is a fighter who needs no introduction to hardcore fans. Thai Sports Authority Fighter of the Year and multiple World Champion, his 33-year-old is considered one of the most exciting and aggressive strikers of all time.
But this is a big chance for Harrison, who hopes to beat the icon in his debut match. Having recorded his 12 knockouts out of his 22 wins in his career, this Australian rising star has impressive firepower in the biggest fight of his career.
Bangkok-based Brazil’s Richard Godoy and Russia’s Alexi Lyapunov are set to settle in a lightweight MMA showdown between submission specialists.
Godoy, a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, has 14 career wins and 10 submissions, while Lyapunov has tapped out five opponents in 10 appearances.
Additionally, the two promoted rookies have just seven losses combined, and a win could set them up for some of the big names in the division.
Muangthai PK. Saenchai will return to fight Uzbekistan’s Mavrud Tupiev after defeating Liam Harrison for the 2022 Muay Thai Fight of the Year.
The man known as ‘The Elbow Zombie’ won a World Title gold medal at Lumpinee Stadium early in his career, so you’ll feel right at home at the venue in Bangkok.
But Tupiev has trained hard with many ONE stars in Tiger Muay Thai and is one of those athletes who has everything a tough debut can bring.
British standout Josh Hill has stepped into the world’s biggest martial arts organization after defeating some big names in Muay Thai and winning the ISKA World Title after the 2022 banner year.
He will take on Kayvan Soleimani in a lightweight Muay Thai bout, and the Iranian slugger also represents the famous Tiger Muay Thai Gym in Phuket.
Japan’s Akihiro Fujisawa joins American wrestler Colton Kielbasa in ONE for flyweight MMA competition in the East and West.
And Greek striker Angelos Jakoumis will kick-start his fight against Iranian Mohammed Sadeghi in the flyweight Muay Thai Curtain Razor.
