The Yankees have once again proven to be one of the busiest and most productive teams in the international market.
The club has agreed to a deal worth an estimated $4.4 million for prospective outfielder Brand Meyer, who is ranked ninth on the international Top 50 list, according to industry sources.
The Yankees, which have a base signing pool of $5,284,000, have not confirmed the agreement. The deal is pending physical.
A premium athlete with advanced tools for her age, Maya is considered one of the most exciting players in her class.

First, Maia has exceptional bat speed and power. One rater described him as a “mini Gary Sheffield”, while others praised his advanced approach at the plate. He is very aggressive in the batter’s box and has a better understanding of the strike zone.

International players are eligible to sign with a major league team between January 15th and December 15th. He will be 16 before signing and the next year he must be 17 by September 1st. January 1, 2005 and August 31, 2006 are eligible to sign during the following signature periods. Players must be registered with Major League Baseball in advance to be eligible to sign.
Teams will be allowed to trade funds from the International Bonus Pool from 15th January.
