University of Georgia junior offensive lineman Devin Willock died Saturday night. According to reports, Willock was one of two members of Georgia’s football program to die in the crash, with another individual at ICU, Rady Nablussi of UGASports.com, first reporting the news.
Chandler LeCroy, Georgia’s recruiting assistant, also died. This story will be updated as more details become available.
The school issued the following statement:
“Every Georgia family is devastated by the tragic deaths of football student-athlete Devin Willock and football staff member Chandler LeCroy. Two other members of the football program were injured in the accident. Both are in stable condition and we will continue to monitor their condition with medical personnel.
Devin and Chandler are two very special people who mean so much to the University of Georgia, our football program and our athletic department. We ask that you all continue to pray for our families during this very difficult time. “
