Turning Stone Resort Casino, Verona, NY – Efe Ajagba (17-1, 13 KO) takes 10 rounds against previously undefeated Stephan Shaw (18-1, 13 KO) in a heavyweight clash at a crossroads of unanimous decisions.
All three scored 96-94 at Ajagba.
Ajagba came out with a jab and slowed things down. Shaw was blocking most of the punches and using his own jab to set punches on Ajagba. In the second, Ajagba continued with a steady jab. Shaw was moving around the ring picking spots.
The majority of Ajagba’s punches in the third were jabs. Ajagba did better in the fourth as he increased his punch output in many activities. Fifth, the show was taking a few more risks. Ajagba stayed on the jab and was out front for most of the round. The sixth more risk the show took. As Ajagba was shooting with the jab, he was punching more often.
A seventh technical boxing match, with Ajagba picking up the pace and doing more. The eight saw Ajagba boxing well to keep Shaw at bay for most of the round. During the ninth it was mostly Ajagba’s jab and the busier fighter. The show showed no sense of urgency at all.
