Graceland University is proud to hire Randall Porter ’00 as the new head coach of its women’s soccer team.

Coach Porter brings over 20 years of experience and success to the program, having served for the past 12 years as coaching director and girls academy director for the Kansas Rush soccer club in Olathe, Kansas.

Porter is a strong leader and role model for his players, and is committed to building a positive and inclusive team culture.

“We are delighted to welcome Coach Porter to the Athletic Division.” Graceland Athletic Director Brady McKillip said: “His passion for the game and dedication to developing student-athletes makes him a perfect fit for our program. And it’s always a great experience to be able to bring Graceland graduates back to Lamoni. I have no doubt he will help take the women’s soccer team to new heights.”

Coach Porter is looking forward to working with the team as he takes over a talented group of returning players. Coach Brian Courtney, who coached both men’s and women’s soccer teams in the fall 2022 season, will return to full-time duties as head coach of men’s soccer.

“I am very excited to be returning to Graceland as head coach of women’s soccer.” Porter said. “Since graduating, I have dedicated myself to training and coaching my players to reach their full potential. I am excited to bring my experience back to Lamoni to develop a new generation of student-athletes.”

The Yellowjackets Women’s Soccer Team is finishing a building season in the competitive Heart of America Athletic Conference and has high hopes for the upcoming 2023-24 season. Under Coach Porter’s leadership, the team is poised for even greater success.

Athletic Director McKillip said: “I also have to thank our search committee and coach Courtney for leading both the men’s and women’s teams last season. Graceland is grateful for his sacrifice and looks forward to his return to the men’s sidelines full-time.”
