The NFL is very interested in Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero. The Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans have completed interviews with Evero about their respective head coaching vacancies.
On Friday, the Atlanta Falcons requested an interview with Evero about the job of defensive coordinator, but this would be a sideways move. It was not wasted. denver postof Parker Gabriel.
“Not a big surprise, but multiple sources say the Broncos won’t allow DC Egyro Ebero, who is under contract next year, to be interviewed for a job with the Falcons DC.” , and are still pretty early in their own HC.”Next week is going to be a tempting one,” Gabriel tweeted.

Had the Broncos blocked Evero from interviewing for the head coach job, this would probably have been more shocking news. Denver has allowed his defensive coordinator to interview his two AFC clubs.
It’s no secret that the Broncos want to keep Evero. He’s already completed an interview with the Walton/Penner Group hiring committee, so he could even be selected as the team’s next head coach.
In Denver’s first year as DC, Evero’s unit started hot but wound up in a stretch as injuries ultimately took their toll. The Broncos finished seventh in yards allowed, but dropped to 13th in points. On Christmas Day he gave up 50 his burger was a big reason Denver dropped out of the top 10 in scoring defense.
Evero, 42, is in the NFL’s radar, but it will be another year before he proves his performance as a coordinator has been anything but extraordinary. But never say it. It’s no surprise to see an NFL team hire him as their head coach.
The Broncos hope that doesn’t happen. Whether it’s Jim Harbaugh, Sean Payton, or anyone else who wins the head coaching job, the Broncos hope to sign Evero to continue his job as defensive coordinator.
For now, the Broncos retain Evero rights, and NFL rules could prevent him from leaving, even on the job of head coach. It’s a big mistake that makes future assistants reluctant to take on coordinator jobs in Denver.
Unless another team hires him as head coach, Evero will coach the Orange and Blue defense again in 2023.
