Smush Parker had a solid career in the NBA in the 2000s, and like most former players, he wants to get back into the game. But he’s looking to make a comeback to the NBA on a very unconventional away trip.

On Instagram, Parker announced that he was trying to learn to be a referee. In his post, Parker admitted that there are only three successful former players to become an NBA referee, but he wants to be the fourth.

Parker will join Bernie Fryer, Leon Wood and Heywood Workman as the only referee in NBA history to have played in a league. Fryer spent five years as a player, but as a referee he spent thirty years. Wood is currently a former top 10 pick for 25 years as a reference, and Workman became a reference in 2008 after his nine-year playing career.
