Only one month (give or take) before pitchers and catchers report to spring training. And now left-handed Zach Britton doesn’t know where he’s going.
The southpaw remains in the free agency market and is not guaranteed a return to the New York Yankees. New York Post’s John Heyman On Tuesday, the New York Mets said, “One of the teams that has expressed interest in Zach Britton, he was managed by Buck (Showalter) in Baltimore and has developed a close relationship with new Mets coach Dom Chitty. We had the most competitive year ever.”

ESPN’s Buster Olney says a deal with Britton would be a nice under-the-radar move.
Britton…when healthy has demonstrated with his hard bending sinker that he has a very high ceiling. One possible landing spot — New York MetsThat team has concerns about carrying too many reliefers with no options, but Britton will give Buck Showalter more balance with an experienced left-hander.

Britton missed most of last season with the Yankees while recovering from Tommy John surgery.
The 35-year-old southpaw is definitely past his prime. In his time, however, the two-time All-Star was one of the best relievers in the game. He also finished 3.13 all-time ERA in 12 MLB seasons.
