Luca has racked up popcorn stats all season long, and the fast-paced, brick-heavy Lakers will give him plenty of chances to fill his stats when the Mavs visit tonight. See why we highlight our picks.

It’s a bright night with just six games scheduled in the NBA. But boy, there are some compelling matchups for player prop bettors to dig into, such as Luka Doncic and the Mavericks taking on LeBron James and the Lakers.

Both Luka and LeBron are playing like crazy right now, but it’s Doncic’s rebound prop that caught my eye. In fact, there’s a trio of rebound props that piqued my interest tonight .

Here are my best NBA player prop picks for Thursday, January 12.

The Philadelphia 76ers are playing very good basketball. They have won 12 of their last 15 matches. A big reason for that is that James Harden is playing arguably the best basketball since he became a member of his 76ers.

Harden is totally whooping these days. His guard for the Sixers has averaged 22.3 points per game over the past nine games, and he has a 40.9% shooting percentage from his 3-point range. He also has a whopping 6.8 rebounds and 12.2 assists per game for that span. So there are many ways to go when it comes to Harden’s props tonight against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

And tonight, the best way to endorse Harden is to get on the board. The Sixers are a team that isn’t very good at rebounding, but the Thunder are even worse.

First of all, OKC is generally a small team. And the few big guys they play with are injured. As a result, the Thunder rank 24th in the NBA in terms of rebounding percentage and are dead last in opponents rebounding per game.

As previously mentioned, Harden has averaged 6.8 rebounds per game over his last nine games, and has grabbed 6.5 over/under in this matchup at even money. He has had seven or more rebounds in five of his nine games, including his last three. I call it value.

Tonight in the NBA, Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks head to Los Angeles for a great game against LeBron James and the Lakers. Both Doncic and LeBron play great basketball and come into this game, but tonight we’re looking at the El Matador prop.

Doncic is currently a favorite in the NBA MVP odds, and the numbers back it up. Doncic has scored his 34.2 points on 50.1% shooting, which makes him an NBA leader, and he has added 8.9 rebounds and 8.7 assists per game. This game focuses on Doncic’s ability to clean glass.

Doncic is clearly one of the best rebounding guards in the NBA, and the Mavericks aren’t a great rebounding team, so it feels like Doncic is putting more effort into Grass. It’s been more pronounced lately, with him jumping to his 10.7 rebounds per game in the last 10 contests.

Tonight he faces a Lakers team, and he’s on par with the Mavs when it comes to rebounding. Los Angeles ranks him 16th in rebounding percentage, but the Lakers aren’t a great shooting team and play at a fast pace, which means they can grab a lot of them. As a result, they ranked him 26th in opponents’ rebounds per game, and his third-most rebounds per game to an opponent’s guard.

Doncic has beaten double-figure boards five times in his last seven games, so it looks like a great bet to do so tonight against the Lakers.

Luka Doncic Prop: 9.5+ rebounds (-120)

the board is stiff

Let’s have a perfect 3 on 3 when it comes to rebounding props today. Here’s a look at the matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Cavaliers have one of the best rebounding teams in the NBA thanks to the twin towers of Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley. Cleveland ranks him seventh in rebounding percentage per game and second in opponent rebounding. That means it could be a tough sleigh tonight for Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic.

Nurkic is a solid big man who has averaged 14.5 points and 10.1 rebounds per game for Portland this season and has been on double-digit boards for three consecutive games. But those games were average against bad rebounding teams (Orlando, Toronto, Indiana).

Nurkic will play hard, but he’s the Blazers’ only true center, getting a good amount of minutes and potentially getting ripped off by the Cavaliers’ dynamic big-man duo.

In the previous 12 games, Nurkic was averaging 8.5 rebounds per game and was holding under 9 rebounds in the stretch.

Yusuf Nurkic Prop: Less than 9.5 rebounds (+108)
