Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James won’t be traded this season, but some believe he could seek a departure as early as this summer. The Lakers have started to turn things around recently, but Los Angeles, still sitting in the 12th seed, is outside the play-in picture.
If the Lakers fail to make the playoffs again, James and the organization could reach a point where a trade would be win-win. Heavy Sports’ Sean Deveney has spoken to his conference executives at Golden State Westerns, where he believes the Warriors can win James’ bidding war this summer.
“Even if there’s a bidding war going on at some point, the Warriors are in a great position because they can give away young players.[James] Wiseman or [Jonathan] Is it Kuminga? [Moses] moody, or [Pat] Baldwin, whoever the Lakers want,” an executive reportedly told Deveny. “But you have to add one or the other. [Jordan] pool or [Andrew] Wiggins, it’s not easy. But if they want to win now, they can give up the pool if they get LeBron back, right? [Green] come back with steph [Curry]Klay Thompson, Draymond [Green] And LeBron, it’s going to be a fun, fun team to watch.”
In a unique location, it’s hard to imagine the Warriors destroying their entire future in the final years of LeBron’s career, but it’s a fascinating scenario to imagine. believes Golden State has the assets to make it possible.
