Kings star guard De’Aaron Fox is adamant about becoming the first NBA All-Star of the season, but his efforts aren’t justified in the first round of fan voting.

Sacramento kicked off an All-Star campaign this season for Fox and partner-in-crime star center Domantas Sabonis.

But while NBA fans outside of Sactown don’t really love dynamic duos, the big names across the league do.

Basketball fans are enjoying a season filled with rising stars and historic players like Luka Doncic and Donovan Mitchell, but Isaiah Thomas is skeptical about who will make his first All-Star appearance in February. I have an idea.

Fox is averaging 23.8 points, 50.2% shooting from the field, 4.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists in 36 games so far this season. Needless to say, he was Mr. Crutch for the Kings in a season with too many real games.

According to KingsMuse, as of Tuesday, the Foxes lead the league in clutch shot and clutch field goal percentage and are second in total clutch points.

Fox’s dominance on the floor also caught the attention of Hall of Famer Magic Johnson. He loudly vouched for Fox’s All-Star campaign on Twitter.

Former NBA champion and current NBA analyst for NBC Sports California and ESPN, Matt Barnes, is using his platform to help bring a little more love and attention to the Kings on a national level. He recently threw the names of Fox and Sabonis on ESPN’s NBA Today, wondering why their names weren’t mentioned in the initial results of the All-Star fan poll.

People are trying to do their part and spread the word, but Fox is only focused on one thing: making the playoffs for the first time in 16 seasons.

NBC Sports California Kings pre/post game live host Morgan Reagan after the Kings’ 117-115 victory over the Utah Jazz in the fourth quarter Asked Fox if he was going back to Utah for the All-Star Game.

“I’ve always talked about it. I just want to win games,” Fox said on “Kings Post Game Live.” I want to do whatever I have to do. If I can do it and I can be on the All-Star team, so be it.

Sounds like an All-Star midset, but we’ll have to wait and see.
