GR players selected for McDonald’s basketball exhibition

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (Wood) — Two students from Metro Grand Rapids have been nominated to play in an elite national basketball game based on their skills.

Macy Brown of East Grand Rapids High School and Pace Rickard of Grand Rapids Christian High School have been nominated to play at McDonald’s All American Games at the end of March. The Top 24 Girls and Top 24 Boys selected to play will be announced Jan. 24 on NBA Today and ESPN.

Every year, high school seniors are nominated to play at McDonald’s All-American Games.This year, 722 students were nominated. To be considered, an athlete must be nominated by a high school coach, athletic director, principal, or someone on the McDonald’s All-American selection committee.

Players will be nominated based on specific criteria Basketball skills, accolades, good behavior, etc.

Previous nominees include Shaquille O’Neal, Candice Parker, Anthony Davis, Maya Moore, Trae Young, Breanna Stewart and more.
