Britton missed most of last season with the New York Yankees while recovering from Tommy John surgery.
The 35-year-old southpaw is definitely past his prime. In his time, however, the two-time All-Star was one of the best relievers in the game. He also finished 3.13 all-time ERA in 12 MLB seasons.

Eppler has invested heavily in pitching this offseason. New York re-signed closer Edwin Diaz, giving him a $102 million deal over five years. The Mets also re-signed reliever Adam Ottavino (2 years, $14.5 million) and acquired former Yankees reliever David Robertson, 1 year $10 million contract.
The starting rotation includes Justin Verlander (2 years, $86.7 million), Jose Quintana (2 years, $26 million) and Kodai Senga (5 years, $75 million).
