Welcome to the 2023 NFL Draft Mock Central, Arizona Cardinals fans, congratulations on the #3 overall pick! We are in a prime position to improve.
The order of the draft has not yet been fully determined, but the first 18 are officially named. The 19th-31st pick (the Miami Dolphins stripped him of his first-round pick for league violations) is based on the current playoff sheet.
We chose not to trade this time around, but we fully expect draft night to be as wild a ride as it always is.
That being said, the Chicago Bears are on the clock:
1. Chicago Bears: Will Anderson Jr., EDGE, Alabama
I don’t believe the Bears will keep this pick, as I imagine they can get the king’s ransom for any team in need of a quarterback. Leave the Generation pass rusher alone.
2. Houston Texans: Bryce Young, QB, Alabama.
Don’t count the Texans to trade up to the first pick to secure Young’s right. Thankfully he’s still available with the second pick. would answer. Despite his size concerns, he’s as polished a passer as this class.
3. Arizona Cardinals: Jalen Carter, DL, Georgia

4. Indianapolis Colts: CJ Stroud, QB, Ohio

6. Detroit Lions (via Los Angeles Rams): Brian Bresey, DL, Clemson
The former number one recruit out of high school found himself in a defensive line that included Aidan Hutchinson and James Huston. This trio alone can intimidate opposing quarterbacks.
7. Las Vegas Raiders: Will Levis, QB, Kentucky
Yet another team in the quarterback market as longtime starter Derek Carr is expected to be traded this offseason. When he leaves, the team will need to quickly fill that void to catch up with the rest of the AFC. He’ll certainly love the idea of grooming himself under Josh McDaniels.
8. Atlanta Falcons: Tyree Wilson, EDGE, Texas Tech University
A mean team to take quarterbacks, the Falcons continue to add good players to their squad instead. Bijan Robinson is very attractive here, but Tyler Alger as a rookie he just ran for 1,000 yards. The Falcons desperately need a pass rush, so adding one of the biggest athletic freaks in the draft via Wilson is the perfect marriage.
9. Carolina Panthers: Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida
The Panthers have to be one of the most aggressive teams looking to trade up a quarterback, whoever it is. But Richardson falls for them here, and they’re happy to shoot a quarterback who looks a lot like another quarterback on the Panthers…
10. Philadelphia Eagles (via New Orleans): Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas
let’s have fun. Miles Sanders is a free agent, and the Eagles have higher priority than resigning as running back. Imagining Robinson in this attack feels like it should be illegal.
11. Tennessee Titans: Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU
That’s right, another team to consider moving up for quarterback. Until it’s clear what they plan to do with the position, they’ll have to keep upgrading their large receiver room. And it’s a fast receiver.
12. Houston Texans (via Cleveland): Jordan Addison, WR, USC
Brandin Cooks is rumored to be traded this offseason, meaning they will need to add a wide receiver for Bryce Young. Some may think Addison is too light to play at the next level, but we point to Devonta Smith as someone who broke the mold. The trio of Addison, Nico Collins, and John Meccie III is perfect for a young, upside-wide receiver room.
13. New York Jets: Paris Johnson Jr., OT, Ohio
The Jets need a quarterback as badly as any other team here, but they might be better off swapping for a veteran like Derek Carr. Now that Duane Brown is 38 and can’t rely on Mekhi Becton to stay healthy, he needs an upgrade. Johnson Jr. has experience on both sides of the line and can be one of the promising offensive building he’s on the block.
14. New England Patriots: Jackson Smith Niziba, WR, Ohio
The Patriots’ wide receiving core has never been a team strength, even in the Tom Brady era. Still, the unit they’ve had in recent years is in desperate need of an upgrade.Smith-Niziva entered 2022 as the class’s consensus WR1 before injuries derailed his season. If he makes a full recovery, as expected of the draft process, he’ll be a darling again thanks to his savvy route-running and big-game abilities.
15. Green Bay Packers: Kelee Ringo, CB, Georgia
If it’s not broken, why fix it? Ringo’s selection by the Packers marked his fourth straight first-round pick the team has spent on the former Georgia Bulldogs, and he equals his previous three. Ringo has a ball he has a penchant for hawking to help secondary who need to get more out of what they have.
16. Commander Washington: Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon
Get ready for a run at cornerback! Gonzalez is a long cornerer with true shutting ability and many list him as his CB1 in the class. The Commanders don’t have a real shutdown his corner here in what he feels like a decade ago, and Gonzalez will be the team’s top dog on Day 1.
17. Pittsburgh Steelers: Joey Porter Jr., CB, Penn State
1.) The Steelers need a cornerback, 2.) Porter Jr. is really good, and 3.) his dad is a Steelers legend. This is his one of the picks that makes the most sense in the world to me.
18. Detroit Lions: Cam Smith, CB, South Carolina
One of four straight cornerbacks and one strong cornerback will be on a team that likes to get on their knees. The Lions have some major potential turnovers in his machine in the secondary, but it seems risky for Smith to lock down the growing Jeff opposite his Okder.
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Peter Skoronski, OT, Northwestern
Donovan Smith has been a substitute-level player for years, but he turns 30 this season. It’s far from time for the Buccaneers to move on. Even if they choose not to, Skoronski can fit inside the guard and re-stabilize this line of attack.
20. Seattle Seahawks: Osiris Torrence, IOL, Florida
The Seahawks continue to strengthen their offensive line by adding one of the better internal offensive line prospects in the 2023 class, having won gold in offensive tackles Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas in the last draft. let’s do it. Strengthening this offensive line should continue to be a priority for teams that have generally preferred to run football.
21. Jacksonville Jaguars: Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame

It will be an interesting study this offseason for how the Giants approach the Daniel Jones situation. We need a wide range of receiver upgrades, but I think we can sign veterans in free agency. In Draft, why not get his Phillips III turnover machine with his proven shutdown capability?
23. Baltimore Ravens: Kaishon Butte, WR, LSU
Whoever is the best wide receiver on the board has to be drafted by the Ravens. Boutte has reconsidered his decision to return to school for his senior season, giving him the opportunity to face Rashod Bateman and Mark Andrews. With Lamar Jackson likely returning to the franchise tag, this passing game is much improved.
24. Los Angeles Chargers: Jalyn Hyatt, WR, Tennessee
A wide receiver may not be the Chargers’ biggest need, but the unreliable health of both Keenan Allen and Mike Williams has really hurt the team in 2022. Now the team has a serious threat with big play potential.
25. Dallas Cowboys: Josh Downes, WR, North Carolina
The Cowboys cannot enter 2023 without a genuine tribute from CeeDee Lamb. Downs has played across the field the past two seasons for the Tar Heels, and being the Cowboys’ second option is an exciting idea for Duck who calls his Prescott and his play in 2023. .
26. Cincinnati Bengals: Broderick Jones, OT, Georgia
La’el Collins tore his ACL just two weeks ago and Jonah Williams seems destined for an inside kick for his guard. This leaves a massive man with offensive tackles, but Jones is a mean guy who can step in and quickly become the Bengals’ best lineman.
27. Minnesota Vikings: Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois
