The Athletic’s Dan Hayes and Ken Rosenthal reported Monday that negotiations between the Minnesota Twins and Correa have “started to accelerate,” leaving the fate of the Mets’ deal in doubt. Rosenthal says negotiations with the Twins are “fluid” and the Mets “are not necessarily out of the bid.”
And apparently, they’re not the only 28-year-old team. Andy Martino of SNY Report: All the focus is on the Twins with Carlos Correa and the Mets, but at least those two teams aren’t the only ones reaching out to Correa’s side lately.
The Mets and Correa signed a deal last month after their 13-year, $350 million deal with the Giants collapsed. San Francisco was hesitant after checking on Correa’s health, but now the Mets appear to have the same concerns.
