The Boston Celtics moved ahead of the guarantee date on veteran big man Noah Bonley’s contract, trading the Indiana alum to the San Antonio Spurs earlier this month. The deal will reportedly save the Celtics about $7 million in salaries and taxes while opening up roster spots with various options for ball clubs to fill.

From player contracts to minimal trading, signing players using the disabled player exception, or for players who might fit Boston’s cap system via the traded player exception. The Celtics have many options, including absorbing contracts. In February, he will tweak the team as he feels it needs to head into the final month of the 2022-23 NBA season before the 2023 trade deadline hits.
