Two key members of the Los Angeles-Georgia football team are heading to the NFL. Both defensive tackle Jalen Carter and his back Kelee Ringo signaled that their time in Georgia was over.

Carter issued a statement confirming the news.

Ringo was briefly questioned this season, but he scored an interception win against Tennessee and Kentucky. He also held TCU star Quinten Johnston to a 3-yard reception once on Monday.

Ringo and Carter both came on as substitutes during the match, the stands erupted in applause, and Kirby Smart had a special moment.

Georgia’s coach also got emotional.

We got most of it together tonight, but we had timeouts at that moment and when you look at Stetson and the defensive players, you don’t know what they’ve sacrificed,” Smart said. “And it means a lot to me that they make such sacrifices for our university.”

Georgia took five players in the first round of last year’s NFL Draft, and both Carter and Ringo are expected to do so this year. Georgia’s defense will also leave safety Chris Smith and outside linebackers Nolan Smith and Robert He Beal.

Outside linebacker MJ Sherman also appeared to indicate that his time in Georgia was over.
