These are the first official requests for Indianapolis to speak to NFL assistants since the regular season officially ended on Sunday. State head coach Jim Harbaugh may also be considered.
For Johnson, this is the second interview request of the day, as the Texan also requested to speak to him. Meanwhile, the Colts’ request for Glenn is the defensive first in his coordinator’s hiring cycle, though Glenn interviewed for two jobs last year.
Morris did interviews with several teams last year and is still in the spotlight of the Broncos this year. He is the only former head coach of his four to have led the Broncos from 2009 until he was in 2011.
Steichen is a young offensive coordinator who helped the Eagles earn the #1 seed in the NFC overall. Like Johnson, Houston asked Steiken for an interview.
Indianapolis is considering hiring a coach to replace Frank Reich, who the team fired mid-season. Saturday took over on an interim basis and finished the season with a 1–7 record.
