The East Catholics played Windsor against two of the state’s top men’s basketball teams at a sold-out Windsor High gymnasium on Friday night, but the CCC game didn’t go as expected for either team.

The Eastern Catholics won the undefeated battle 49-42.

East Catholic coach Luke Riley said, “They were really quality opponents in a hostile environment. Places were sold out on Friday night. “It wasn’t a great game for either team, but it would be ideal if we could win an ugly game away and learn from the mistakes we made along the way.”

“There’s a lot to take from this movie. If we keep improving and we can win, that’s all.”

Windsor have averaged 68 points in their games through Friday and had scored 90 points in their previous game against Weathersfield.

“Collectively, defensively, the Windsor had a great offensive punch. “We felt good about it. Both sides wanted to score more points, so it was a defensive battle on both ends.

Both East Catholic and Windsor will head to Springfield next week to take on various teams in the HoopHall Classic.
