The Los Angeles Dodgers have officially cut ties with pitcher Trevor Bauer, the team announced Friday.
The former Cy Young Award winner was suspended from Major League Baseball for violating the league’s joint domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse policy, but an arbitrator last month suspended him. was reduced from 324 games to 194 games, and returned with immediate effect.
Bauer hasn’t played since June 2021 after he alleged he was sexually assaulted by a San Diego woman. The pitcher, whom Los Angeles prosecutors have declined to press charges against, has denied the sexual assault allegations and claims the encounter with the woman was consensual.

The team concluded that “two extensive reviews of all available evidence in this case,” conducted by MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred and an independent arbitrator, concluded that “Mr. Bauer’s actions were unprecedented in sports. This policy justified the suspension of an active player for the longest time.Now that this process is complete, after careful consideration, we have decided that he is no longer part of our organization. ”
Bauer on Twitter On Friday, he spoke with Arizona’s “Dodgers leadership” on Thursday and was told he wanted him to pitch there next season.
