Tristian is now one of the region’s prolific basketball scorers, having scored 1,000 points for the Blazers earlier this season. He also served as center and defensive midfielder for the NEW Lutheran football team this fall.

Earned 1,000 points earlier this season. Has that changed you as a player?

“We are open as usual. [Meerstein] You say it’s a big milestone, but nothing changes. It’s good, but the season is still on for me and I want to do the best I can.”

The Blazers have a very good assist man in Elijah Maestein. Describe how it feels to know that he will find you.

“It’s always reassuring to know that when I have a bad game, he usually doesn’t have a bad game. So he’s always there for me and we always have each other. We are both great basketball players, great basketball minds, and great basketball IQs, so we know what to do. When you have two good players, everyone is better and everyone can meet their standards.”

New. Lutheran is a smaller school and plays at different conferences than most Green Bay schools. Ever wanted to play against more local teams?

“It would be fun to play with Preble and East once in a while, but I wouldn’t say I’m going to their conference. I think it would be fun to play a non-conference game together about once a year.”

Also plays AAU basketball. How is it?

“I just started playing last season and it was a lot of fun. I started on the B team and got promoted to the A team. We blew all the teams out and played better than anyone. It was a lot of fun.If I could do it all over again, I would do it 100%.”

You started playing soccer this fall. How was your season?

500 and won a home regional (playoff) game. So I said there was no soccer home playoff game.So good for everyone. We had a really tough competition. We brought Star John Bay to a close game.It was really fun and I’m in shape for basketball. have arranged.”

What was the learning curve like during the season?

“It was a lot of growth. I played soccer in middle school, and it was a big jump from middle school to high school. I think I’ve grown a lot as a person and as an athlete, and being able to see all the different roles has helped a lot.”

Where do you go to eat after the game?

“Me and my friends love hanging out at Culver’s.”

Are you a summer person or a winter person?

“Summer. Summer is a great time to swim outside.”

Do you watch movies or short shows?

“I prefer movies. I saw the new Avatar movie and thought it was okay. I really like Glass Onion — it’s a murder mystery that just dropped on Netflix.”

Do you have pets?

“I have a cat named Cougar and I have two dogs. One is a German Shepherd named Bose and I also have a German Wirehair named Stella.”

What is your hobby?

“I love working out at the YMCA and I really enjoy playing video games. I play a lot of Fortnite.”

Where is one of your favorite places you’ve traveled to?

“I went to Iowa a month and a half ago to watch the Iowa-Wisconsin football game and it was great fun.”

What are your plans after high school?

“Make sure you go to college. I haven’t decided yet, but there are still a lot of things in my head as options.”
