Vanda, 29, has made sporadic major league appearances in each of the past six seasons and has suited the Diamondbacks, Rays, Mets, Pirates, Blue Jays and Yankees. Over the past two seasons, he has pitched his 60 1/3 innings with a 5.37 ERA, robbing him 21.5% of hitters and walking 9%.
