On January 2, the MLB world was left in shock after NFL star Dumar Hamlin collapsed on the field during a game.

Buffalo Bills safety Dumar Hamlin, 24, passed out midway through Monday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Hamlin passed out after playing the first quarter. After this, medical personnel administered CPR to him on the field for over 10 minutes.

About 16 minutes after collapsing, Hamlin was given oxygen and then transferred to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The world of MLB has been devastated by a devastating tragedy that forced the cancellation of the championship game between the NFL’s two top teams.

MLB analyst Ben Verlander was very saddened by the unfortunate news of Dummer Hamlin.

San Francisco Giants outfielder Joc Pederson, Miami Marlins’ Jazz Chisholm Jr., and Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Chris Basitt wished Dummer Hamlin a speedy recovery.

The Pittsburgh Pirates, a Major League Baseball team, joined millions of fans and players in praying for Hamlin.

Chicago Cubs pitcher Jerry Blevins said he was playing baseball after the death of Miami Marlins star Jose Fernandez in a boat crash in 2020, saying, “Being on the field has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done. “I’ve never felt more wrong,” he said. Jerry said Damar’s collapse was reason enough to call the game off.

Not exactly the same situation. But after Jose Fernandez died, when we were playing baseball, I never felt so wrong to be on the field. The game should be called.

Atlanta Braves outfielder Michael Harris II called out sportswriter Skip Bayless over an insensitive tweet about Dumar Hamlin’s injury.

Hamlin’s injury came while working on Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. Higgins’ helmet appeared to hit Hamlin’s chest. Recent reports suggest Hamlin is in critical condition.

A native of McKee’s Rocks, Pennsylvania, Hamlin was selected by the Bills in the 2021 NFL Draft and was part of the 2022 starting lineup.

In 1920, MLB player Ray Chapman died after hitting his head while playing.

During the 1920 MLB game between the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Guardians, Ray Chapman was struck in the head on the pitch and died 12 hours later.

100 years ago today, Ray Chapman was attacked by Karl Mays on the polo grounds. After his death, the Chapman Memorial Committee created this plaque and installed it in League Park. It has come a long way to its current location in Heritage Park. https://t.co/Wpi3K9gFBF
