Illinois Women’s Basketball Wins Votes in AP Top 25 Poll

Champaign, Illinois – For the first time since 2013, Illinois women’s basketball was voted in the Associated Press (AP) Top 25 ranking.Now out on a 13-2 start Shauna Greenthe Illini take their biggest win yet – 12/10 Iowa in a New Year’s Day upset.

The last time the Fighting Illini were in the top 25 was on November 27, 2000, when the team was ranked 24th in the AP poll.

Illinois moved up to 20th place with 2 ballots and ended up with 12 of 28 votes. Illini ranked 20th (2nd), 21st (1st), 23rd (3rd) and 25th (6th).

  • Illinois started 15 games, the most in program history, with a 13-2 record.
