The last two weeks of 2022 have been chaotic, with a non-conference schedule coming to an end and plenty of competitive holiday tournaments taking place. But even this was a little too much.

Fourteen of The Post’s final top 20 have dropped at least one game since their last ranking on December 19th. The Quakers lost the Nike Tournament of Champions in Arizona against the Long Island Lutherans 63–60. Still, the Quakers remain number one in the region’s best pound-for-pound resumes.

As such, several local teams are eyeing it in hopes of supplanting it as a mighty DC powerhouse. No. 2 Georgetown Visitation will get their next shot in Tuesday’s matchup.

Few other private schools made more of an impression than the first-year programs of Shabach Christian and Mount Zion Prep.

Elsewhere, three teams — Edison, Osborne Park and Tuscarora — fall outside the top 20, with Robinson teetering at No. 19 after losing to ranking debutant Holy Child as Northern Virginia begins an even season. . In Maryland, Howard, Glenn his Bernie and Clarksburg remain undefeated.

1. Sidwell Friends (7-1) final rank: 1

The Quakers owed the Long Island Lutherans a heartbreaker, 63-60, but were otherwise dominant, losing for the first time since basketball was suspended due to the pandemic.

The Eagles dominated two national championships, capped off the break with a win over Texas powerhouse DeSoto, and put on the best holiday show of any local team.

The Panthers defeated the Archbishop Woods, Pennsylvania team, 52-31, which caused trouble for other top programs.

5. Bishop McNamara (4-5) LR: 6

The Mustangs start Washington Catholic Athletic Conference play on a high note after a 70-50 win over St. John’s.

6. St. John’s (9-4) LR: 3

The Cadets lost three games I’m hoping to take a break and get back on track with the start of the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference.

The top ranked public school remains undefeated after winning the Kim Harris division of the All About the Girls Holiday Hoops tournament.

8. Glenn Burnie (6-0) LR: 8

The Gophers increasingly look like favorites for the Maryland Class 4A title.

Frogs were perfect for our vacation. A difficult task awaits Friday against the Potomac School.

10. Bishop Ileton (10-3) LR: 11

The Cardinals have a win over some of Virginia’s top private schools.

11. Mount Zion Prep (14-5) LR: 19

The Warriors were stellar against ranked competition, defeating Parrotti and the Virginia Academy.

12. Virginia Academy (8-3) LR: 10

The Patriots fell slightly after losses to Mount Zion Prep and Shabach Christian Academy during the holiday slate.

13. CH Flower (6-1) LR: 13

The Prince George’s County class lost their first game of the season in DC’s Title IX Classic championship game.

14. Woodgrove (7-0) LR: Unranked

The 2021-22 Class 5 runners-up are Northern Virginia’s last undefeated team after winning three games in Oakton’s Holiday Round Robin.

15. Churchill (5-1) LR: 15

The Bulldogs defeated several local heavyweights before losing a close 42-40 loss to Forest Park, an undefeated Baltimore area team.

16. Clarksburg (6-0) LR: 17

The Coyotes haven’t dropped a regular season game since before the pandemic.

17. Holy Child (8-3) LR:NR

A deep team led by junior guard Jada Wilson is up to the task of the Independent School League’s grueling schedule, which begins this week.

18. Parrotti (9-4) LR: 14

The Panthers have lost three games from the final round of the rankings.

19. Robinson (7-2) LR: 12

The Rams have been great against their fellow public schools, but need to bounce back from their offensive problems in a 38-28 loss to the Holy Childs on Friday.

20. Gainesville (9-1) LR: NR

After winning the Shark Tank Winter Classic, the program makes its Top 20 debut in its second year.
