Notre Dame Senior Safety Brandon Joseph Officially declared for the 2023 NFL Draft. The decision had been expected over the past few weeks, but became official on Saturday.

In Joseph’s one season with the Irish programme, the talented defender amassed a total of 30 tackles, interceptions and pass breakups in 10 games. Joseph returned that lone interception 29 yards for a touchdown against Syracuse in his first series of games.

Joseph was also the team’s primary punt returner during the season. He averaged 9.9 yards per return, ranking 12th in the nation.

Notre Dame won just 10 games from Joseph due to a number of nagging injuries. He only appeared in his one of his final four games for the team and was devastated and failed to finish the UNLV or Syracuse games. Joseph was not an influential Notre Dame player at Northwestern.

The Texas native spent the past three seasons as part of the Wildcat program before moving to Notre Dame for the 2022 season. After redshirting his first season with the Wildcats in 2019, Joseph appeared in 20 games over the next two seasons and was named All-Big Ten both years.

After the 2021 season with the Wildcats, Joseph enjoyed entering the 2022 NFL Draft. Eventually he chose to return and used his option to transfer to another school.

In total, Joseph recorded 159 total tackles, 10 interceptions, and 7 pass breaks. He is considered a bit lackluster by league circles as he enters his group of safety in 2023.
