No.1 Gulf Breeze 1, No.2 Tate 0 (OT)
Style makes a fight.
On a night when the two best defenders in the area met on the pitch, it was only natural that the 1-6A district final went over the planned distance.
Gulf Breeze threw punches from multiple angles and Tate showed a tough chin. Yet, with a quick flick of his head, the dolphin landed its devastating blow, knocking Aggies to the canvas.
Carson Dahlem headed in the 93rd minute to give the Gulf Brees an overtime victory over Tate at Escambia County Stadium at Ashton Brosnaham Park on Wednesday night. The Dolphins won two in a row. They had him crowned 1-5A champion a year before him.
Gulf Breeze head coach Austin King said, “We’ve had a tough season, and this game feels like a miniscule version of that.” , they kept believing in each other.I’m so proud of the guys from 1st to 23rd on the roster.The guys have worked really hard.

The Gulf Breeze thought they had broken through a cross from Peyton Tatro a minute ago when Dahlem headed a pass to the back post. Will Woodward used his right knee to drive the ball into the back of the net but was called offside.
Instead of worrying about the phone, the Irukas went back to work.
Aiden Burr, who handled the ball in the offensive third, served open Dahlem towards the center of the box.
“It was a close match, but I feel great now that it’s over,” said Dahlem. “I couldn’t have done it without the team. They supported me all along.”
The Gulf Breeze entered the match as the top seed in the district, 2nd in class 6A and 7th overall. The Dolphins, who have improved their season record to 18-2-1 after a nine-game winning streak, will host their regional quarterfinal game on Wednesday.
Tate (10-3-3), on the other hand, has a frustrating time. The team started the district where he ranked 8th in the region 1-6A. The Aggies bubble may have burst as Oakleaf, the 11th ranked team in the region, scored an upset win over Ponte his Vedra in the division 3-6A championship match. Hmm.
We don’t know if the bracket will be released on Saturday.
Aggies manager Nick Cardoso said: “I think (the players) really gave their all. “I’m so proud of the intensity, the effort and the dedication. I couldn’t ask for more.
“I don’t know. We’ll find out eventually. I hope to move forward. If that happens, we’ll be in Gainesville or Jacksonville. I don’t know, but we’re ready. That.”
