According to an email sent to YouTube TV subscribers on Tuesday, MLB Network was cut from the YouTube TV show after the two sides failed to reach an agreement on a contract renewal.
MLB Network was previously part of YouTube TV’s basic plan for $64.99 per month. At least for now, that’s no longer the case.
An email sent to YouTube TV subscribers read, “We apologize for this news. We continue to communicate with MLB and hope that MLB’s content will be restored to YouTube TV. I will do it.” is written.
YouTube TV has been involved in contract disputes with Disney and NBCUniversal and has been able to reach agreement in both cases. Even if the MLB network is discontinued, the channel won’t go away forever.
However, MLB networks are offered on many other cable plans, such as Xfinity and DirecTV Stream. The network is completely dedicated to baseball news and analysis with programs such as: quick pitch, MLB Central, MLB now, high fever, MLB hot stove, deliberate talk When MLB Tonight.
Major League Baseball games will continue to air on TBS, FOX, ESPN, and YouTube TV users.
Pitchers and catchers will begin reporting to spring training in two weeks, with spring training games beginning February 24. The opening date is set for his March 30th.
