District 1-3A Semifinals

No. 3 Pensacola Catholic 4, No. 2 North Bay Haven Academy 1

Behind a career-best performance from Jacob Wilkinson, the Crusaders advanced to the Division 1-3A Finals following a convincing win over the Buccaneers out of Panama City Beach’s Publix Sports Complex.

Wilkinson fired four balls into the back of the net and scored twice in the first half and twice more in the second half. The senior’s best result so far is a hat trick against Pine Forest on January 5th.

Wiley Collins, Ian Stinnett and Nicholson Whitner provided assists.

The Pensacola Catholics (7-11-1) will try to get their ticket to the state postseason at 1st Walton on Wednesday at 6pm. With the team in Region 1-3A and him ranked 15th, the Crusaders, who are looking for their second straight division title, are in a win-or-go scenario.

District 1-5A Semifinals

No. 1 Arnold 3, No. 4 Booker T. Washington 1

One goal in the second half was not enough against the state’s top-ranked team as the Wildcats lost to the Marlins at Escambia High School.

Arnold scored all three goals in the first half. Statistics were not available.

Booker T. Washington (8-6-3) is ahead of the Regional 1-5A tournament, with the team receiving open bids.

Women’s soccer

No. 2 West Florida 1, No. 3 Bay 0

The first-half goal was all the Jaguars needed to advance to the Division 1-4A final as they secured a shutout victory over the Tornados. This is West Florida’s seventh shutout win of the season.

Statistics were not available.

The Jaguars (10-4-3) will take on leaders South Walton for the division title on Thursday at 6pm. Last season, the Seahawks defeated West Florida by his 2-1 win to win the division.

men’s basketball

Booker T. Washington 59, Choctaw 56

The Wildcats swept the season series against the Indians following their narrow road victory. Statistics were not available.

Booker T. Washington beat the Choctaw 62-39 in the opening game on November 22nd.

The Wildcats, who have improved their record to 16-5, will end the regular season at home against Crestview on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Pensacola 63, Navarre 53

The Tigers were up one point going into the fourth quarter and outscored the Raiders 21-12 in the final eight minutes to clinch the road win.

Brian Harris (22 points) and Watashawas McCalloy (15 points) each scored in double figures to give Pensacola the lead (6-17). Harris also had a team-high six rebounds.

Statistics for Navarra (9-14) were not available. He will finish his season as a regular on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at his home against the Gulf his Breeze. The Tigers will play Milton on Friday at 7:30 pm.

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy 73, West Florida 65

The Stingrays bounced back from their previous loss after winning at home against the Jaguars. Statistics were not available.

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy (13-3) will play Young Kids in Motion at home on Friday at 6pm. After losing five of his last six games, West Florida (10-14) will play Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Milton.
