The program’s all-time championship leader oversaw the team for 12 seasons (1995-96 to 2006-07), leading Orange and Blue to the 1996-97 Big Ten Championship. In his 35-year career as head coach, Grenz has won 681 games, 210 of them in orange and blue. She began her career with the St. Joseph’s (1974-76) and on the sidelines with the Rutgers (1976-95) where she spent 19 her seasons before coming to Illinois. Following her stint at Champaign her Urbana, Grenz recorded two more her seasons (2015-17) as head coach at Lafayette.
Grenz won the 1982 AIAW National Championship with the Scarlet Knights. She took Rutgers to her NCAA Sweet Sixteen her three appearances and her two appearances in the NCAA Elite Eight, and in 19 of her seasons she went 434-150 (.743). I was.
