The Miami Heat reportedly have a trade interest in one of their veteran starters.

Action Network’s Matt Moore reports that point guard Kyle Lowry has been the subject of calls from other teams as the Feb. 9 trade deadline approaches.

“Recent reports out of Miami suggest Lowry will be unavailable, but the team hopes it’s true as the Heat struggle to produce anything resembling a playoff-level offense that works. We continue to seek to determine whether there is,” Moore said.

Miami leads the Southeast Division with a 28-23 record and is ranked 6th in the Eastern Conference. The Heat struggled to achieve consistency earlier in the year, opening with an 18-18 record.

Lowry has started all 41 games he has played in, averaging 12.4 points, 5.4 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals. The 36-year-old is past the point in his career to be primarily an offensive option, but he’s still a consistent contributor and reliable floor general.

Moore said the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clippers are “most aggressive in acquiring point guards.”In addition to Lowry, Toronto Raptors’ Fred VanVleet and Utah Jazz’s Mike Conley It is reportedly considered “a big presence in the market.”

The Clippers were a team to watch ahead of the trade deadline, with Moore reporting that star forward Kawhi Leonard has “revealed” to the team’s front office that he welcomes the addition of a point guard. Both Lowry and VanVleet played alongside Leonard as he led the Raptors to his 2019 NBA Championship.

For now, Lowry will continue to help Miami achieve consistent success. The Heat will have his fourth win in five games when he takes on the Cleveland Cavaliers (30-21) on Tuesday.
