Junior-middleweight contender Serhiy Bohachuk won again, stopping Nathaniel Gallimore at Quiet Cannon in Montebello, Calif., on Friday night.
The Ukrainian-born Bohachuk, who lives and trains in Los Angeles, has gone 22-1 with 22 knockouts.
Gallimore had a game early in the fight, staying in his pocket and trading with Bohachuk. As the match progressed, Bohachuk’s punches began to take their toll. Gallimore’s punching output began to decline with each passing round as Bohachuk mixed attacks to the head and body.
The end came late in the sixth round as Bohachuk landed a barrage of punches as Gallimore had his back to the ropes. Referee Ray Corona thought Gallimore had given too much punishment and decided to step in and stop the fight at 2:58.
The 27-year-old also fought at Quiet Cannon on November 3, stopping Aaron Corey in the second round. He was in Ukraine for several months, serving in the army in a conflict with Russia.
Bohaczuk, promoted by Tom Leffler, have won their last four games since losing by knockout to Brandon Adams in March 2021.
Gallimore, who lives in Des Plaines, Illinois, falls to 22-7-1, 17 KOs. The 34-year-old has lost 6 of his last 8 matches. He lost to Fyodor Cherkasin by unanimous decision.
In the co-feature, featherweight Omar Cande Trinidad improved to 11-0-1, 9 KOs, dropping Jose Luis Ramirez in the first and second rounds to end the matter with a 47 in the second round.
Originally from Mazatlan, Mexico and now living in Oxnard, California, Ramirez falls to 28-9, 16 KOs.
In an undefeated light heavyweight clash, Umar Zambekov knocked out Paul Fleming of Hammond, Indiana (2-1, 1 KO) at 1:22 of the second round. The Russian-born Zambekov, who is coached by Steven Feder and now lives and trains in Los Angeles, has gone 3-0 with 2 KOs.
