All-Star Reserve Markkanen Building Case
Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen returns to the floor for the first time after being left off the Western Conference All-Stars starting roster.
Markkanen received fewer votes than LeBron James, Nikola Jokic and Zion Williamson, who missed 20 games in the first half of the season.

Markkanen was ranked 4th by fellow NBA players, 5th by media insiders, and 7th in ban polls.
The fate of the Jazz forward now rests in the hands of the NBA coach charged with the All-Star Reserve nomination.
The All-Star roster will be finalized on February 2, with reserves selected by the NBA’s 30 head coaches.
Markkanen averaged 24.8 points and 8.7 rebounds, shooting 52 percent from the floor, 43 percent from 3, and 87 percent from the free-throw line.
Early Saturday morning, the Jazz announced that Kelly Olynyk would be back in the lineup after missing eight games with an ankle injury.
Doncic Injury to Sans
Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic was named an All-Star starter on Thursday.
X-rays were negative, but the Mavericks said they don’t know if Doncic is possible until the game against the Jazz gets closer.

Dallas coach Jason Kidd said, “He was looking good.” will be obtained.”
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Doncic is not scheduled to face the Jazz due to a sprained ankle.
The Mavericks also don’t include forward Christian Wood (thumb). Wood had 21 points and 10 rebounds in the final game between Dallas and the Jazz.
