Adding firepower inside doesn’t hurt, and Michigan has produced some really great DLs over the years. Smith (6-foot-3, 326 pounds) ranks his fifth among defensive tackles in the class. He projects it as a heavy-duty nose tackle type that can finally plug into the team’s runtop problems.
