Sporting Lisbon are exploring the possibility of signing Hector Bellerin from Barcelona as they consider a replacement for Pedro Polo should he join Tottenham Hotspur.
Sporting are still in talks with Spurs over a deal for Polo, but so far there has been no progress in talks.
Sporting rivals Porto will face the 23-year-old in Saturday night’s Portuguese League Cup final.
However, a deal could still be agreed before Tuesday’s deadline, and Bellerin is open to the possibility of joining Sporting as a possible replacement for Polo.

Tottenham to meet with Sporting Lisbon over Pedro Polo
The 27-year-old former Arsenal player has found it hard to find game time since joining Barcelona from north London in the summer, when his contract expires in June.
So far there has been no contact between the two clubs.
Since signing for the club, Bellerin has been limited to just seven appearances, making just three appearances in La Liga.
Fourth-placed Sporting in the Primeira Liga first contacted Brighton & Hove Albion to inquire about the possibility of signing Tariq Lamptey.
But Brighton are determined to keep the 22-year-old Ghana international.
If Polo leaves the club in the next four days, it will be difficult to replace him.
His performances at Sporting earned him one senior cap for Spain under Luis Enrique in March 2021, which qualified for the World Cup qualifiers against Georgia.
This season, he has been a consistent fixture for Ruben Amorim’s Sporting side, scoring 3 goals and providing 11 assists in 25 appearances in all competitions.
