Sergey Kovalev expects Anthony Yard to show “his big heart” against Artur Beterbiev, but thinks he will be the side to take the beating.
When is Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yard?
Beterbiev, 38, will make his UK debut on Saturday night when he takes on Yarde, 31, at Wembley Arena.
A former world title challenger, Yard joins the clash as a giant underdog who has had to deal with a wave of criticism about the level of opponents he has faced in his career.
If there’s one person who knows Yarde, it’s Kovalev.
The Russian defeated Yarde in the 11th round at Chelyabinsk’s Traktor Sport Palace in August 2019.
And Kovalev argues Yard won’t be able to handle the amount of pressure Beterbiev will bring tomorrow night.

“I lost over 15 pounds in this fight. He couldn’t stop me.
“I would be interested to see this too. In my opinion, Artur is naturally strong and mentally has a very big background with two Olympics and World Championships. and is mentally older than Anthony Yard.
“Until six o’clock at the latest. I think so, five, six. They are both big and strong and smart.
“So it’s an interesting match, but Beterbiev will beat him before mid-game. It all depends on the setting.
“If Artur appreciates him enough and is ready for the fight, I think it will be a win for Artur. Being mentally prepared is the most important thing, and if he’s mentally prepared, he can show a big heart, but you get it.”
