City Approves Contract to Build Hayes Farm Sports Park

Two new sports fields are coming soon to South Huntsville. The city has approved his $2.4 million contract with Chorba Contracting Corporation to build the Hays Farm Sports Park facility.

The deal includes two regulation-sized multi-purpose fields suitable for soccer, lacrosse and other activities. The lighted turf field will be supported by a toilet pavilion, 120 lighted parking spaces, perimeter fencing, landscaping and irrigation.

The 9-acre sports park is located on the west side of Haysland Road across from Grissom High School. It was designed to connect to a greenway that runs along Hayesland and can also be accessed through a tunnel from the east side of the road. The park is scheduled to open in spring 2024.
