With the February 9 NBA trade deadline looming, the Detroit Pistons have arguably the hottest trade target in the league.
Veteran Bojan Bogdanovic has been the subject of numerous phone calls between Pistons general manager Troy Weaver and Co. in recent weeks. The 33-year-old had one of the most efficient shooting of his NBA career in nine years (his goal percentage on the field was a career-high 57.7, according to NBA.com). He maintained a career-best average of 21.6 points. Detroit currently has his second-worst record in the league, so it’s easy to see why teams are looking to the Pistons as deadline sellers. That direction is typically the route many of the League’s basement dwellers take at this time, but I understand Detroit isn’t eager to move away from Bogdanovic at this point.
