Emily Davis had two goals and one assist as the Costa Mesa High women’s soccer team beat Santa Ana 5-2 in an Orange Coast League game at home on Tuesday.
Brianna Elias, Keira Kirsch and Alexis Lopez also scored for leaders Mustangs (14-6, 8-1 in league play). Itzel Ramirez recorded his 3 assists and goalkeeper Vanessa Ochoa recorded his 4 saves.
Costa Mesa has three games remaining after beating second-placed St. Margaret (7-2 in the league). The Mustangs are looking to win the Orange Coast League title for the fifth year in a row.
Costa Mesa hosts Saddleback on Thursday.
Estancia 10, Saddleback 0: The Eagles scored a commanding victory in the Orange Coast League game at Estancia High on Tuesday.
Third-placed Estancia (6-4-3, 5-2-2 in the league) will play in St. Margaret on Thursday.
Corona Dell March 2, Edison 1: Kai Tsakiris and Isabella Garza scored for the Sea Kings in a Sunset Conference crossover match at Edison High on Tuesday.
Logan Stern and Helena Litvak provided assists for CdM (12-5-1) and goalkeeper Alex Boserp made five saves. The Sea Kings will start the second half of his league wave on Thursday with his home match against Laguna Beach.
Edison (6-9-4) will host Huntington Beach in a Surf League match on Thursday.
Newport Harbor 1, Laguna Beach 0: Stella Gaffney scored with an assist for Ella Knox of the Sailors in a Sunset Conference crossover match at Newport Harbor High on Tuesday.
Goalkeeper Aubrey Barnes made 1 saves. Coach Justin Schroeder will surf at his Alamitos in Los Angeles on Thursday to resume his league play Newport to keep his Harbor (11-7-3) shutout, alley his Thomas and Delaney Garm greats Back his line acknowledged his play.
Laguna Beach fell to 5-8-4 overall.
Huntington Beach 1, Marina 0: The Oilers improved to 19-2-1 after winning Tuesday’s Sunset Conference crossover match.
Marina is now 5-5-6.

Sage Hill 52, Laguna Hills 50: The number one Lightning improved to 7-0 in the Pacific Coast League with Tuesday’s home win.
Sage Hill is 10-11 overall.
women’s basketball
Edison 41, Corona del Mar 38: Senior guard Bailey Chan scored a game-high 16 points for the Chargers in a Sunset Conference crossover game at Corona del Mar High on Tuesday.
Freshman forward Taylor Savage led Edison to 11 points, six rebounds and four steals (13-12). Junior forward Mia Kassel also had nine points and six rebounds.
Senior guard Kennedy French Matthews scored a team-leading 10 points in CdM (14-10). Sophomore guard Alexa Locos scored eight points and senior forward Sara Oudis added seven.
Fountain Valley 49, Laguna Beach 38: Senior guard Mary Nguyen created a trio of three-pointers to key in the Barons’ 13-point effort in Monday’s Sunset Conference crossover game.
Freshman Sophie Shaye added 12 points, all of which were scored from behind the three-point line. Sophomore Carly Waite also scored six points and he had six rebounds (11-14) in his Valley.
Senior Sophie Marriner had 15 points going with 17 rebounds and 3 steals for Laguna Beach (18-6). Sophomore Kate Cheng got her 10 points and junior year Alexandra Grombchevsky got her 9 points.
Estancia 35, Saddleback 27: In Tuesday’s Orange Coast League game, Leslie Calderon led the host Eagles with 12 points, 11 rebounds, four blocked shots and two stolen bases.
Estancia (14-11, 3-6) will face St. Margaret (18-6, 7-2) on Thursday.
Newport Harbor 46, Marina 28: The Sailors posted their fifth straight loss on Tuesday with a home victory over the Vikings in the Sunset Conference crossover game.
Newport Harbor is currently 2-21 overall, while Marina has fallen to 11-14 during the season.
Los Alamitos 60, Huntington Beach 22: The visiting Oilers (8-17) lost their fifth consecutive crossover game in the Sunset Conference on Tuesday.
