Spokane, Washington – Gonzaga University’s women’s soccer team has announced 10 additional players to its roster for next season.

Mia Hashimoto
Center Backs | Pearl City, Hawaii | Punahou School City / Leahi SC

Hashimoto joins Gonzaga from Aloha State after an impressive defensive career at Punahou School City in Pearl City, Hawaii.

Hashimoto has earned many accolades throughout his prep career, including Interscholastic League of Hawaii Defensive Player of the Year Award, ScoringLive Allstate Defensive Player of the Year Award, and been named to multiple Allstate First Teams through various organizations. it was done.

With a GPA of 4.143, Heslam was named the MAC Scholar Athlete of the Class of 2022.

Midfielder/Center Back | Las Vegas, Nevada | Sierra Vista High School / Las Vegas Heat

Lester arrived in Spokane with a résumé full of achievements from his time at Sierra Vista High School.

A 2022 High School All-American, Lester was recently named to the ECNL U-17 Southwest First Team All-Conference, but was also named to the First Team All-Desert Region and All-South Nevada member three times.
With a GPA of 4.3, Lester is a National Honor Society Student, a Good American Award winner, and graduates with both an Advance Honors Diploma and a College and Career Ready Diploma.

Lester’s dad played basketball at both Skagit Valley Community College in Mount Vernon, Washington and Biola College in California.

Michaela McCallum
Goalie | Portland, Oregon | Grant High School | Portland Thorns Academy

McCallum hails from Rose City after spending three years at Grant High School and she was a great goalie. In her three years, she averaged an 82% save percentage and she allowed 0.62 goals per game. As a junior in 2021, she achieved a career-best her 91% save percentage and allowed 0.34 goals. This is her GAA, the lowest in Oregon among all her 6A keepers.

In 2022, McCalrom had an 86% save percentage and allowed 0.88 goals per game. She has completed two shutouts on record. She has a 0-0 draw against Oswego and a 6-0 win against Roosevelt.

Facing her club team, the Portland Thorns Academy (ECNL), McCalrom is set to have a 90% save percentage and 0.63 goals per game allowed in 2021, and an 86% save percentage and 10 goals per game in 2022. 0.88 goals conceded.

McCollom is currently graduating from Valedictorian with a current GPA of 4.2. She was a member of the Honor Society both in her junior year and her senior year.

Kristen Puells
Forward | Goodyear, Arizona | Millennium High School | SC Del Sol

Puells brought talent from Arizona north to Spokane and was named Millennium High School’s Region Player of the Year for the 2021-22 season.

Puels excels in her class, has a 4.6 GPA, and is a member of her school’s student council and the National Honor Society.

His mother, Lenny Puells, was a member of the United States Air Force Academy soccer team.

Shelby Runje
Forward/Midfield | Issaquah, Washington. Issaquah High School / Crossfire

A native of Issaquah on the western side of Washington, Runje was an outstanding prep soccer player at Issaquah High School.

A 2022 High School All-American, Runje totaled 40 goals and 27 assists in 37 games with the Eagles and was named the 2021 4A Allstate First Team Selection and KingCo 4A Offensive Player of the Year.

Abby Sicilia
Center Backs | Spokane, Washington.West Valley High School/Spokane Sounders

Sicilia graduated from West Valley High School and won All GSL Defensive MVP and 2.nd Team Allstate in Class 2A in 2022. She was also named to the GSL All-Defense Team in 2019 and 2021.

Sicilia has a 4.0 GPA, was a member of the National Honor Society and was a West Valley Scholar Athlete.

Cicilia’s mother, Megan Wikstrom Cicilia, was a softball player at the University of Washington from 1992-1995.

Emily Todd
Forward/Midfielder | Spokane, Washington.North Central High School/Spokane Sounders

Todd came to Gonzaga from North Central High School in downtown Spokane. She was on her national team football team for four years there.

Todd scored a total of 36 goals in his four-year career with the Wolfpack and was named to the GSL All League First Team twice as a senior and sophomore.

Outside of football, Todd was honored as the top editorialist in three North Central classes and was honored by Spokesman Review editor Rob Curley.

Emelia Walta
Center Field | Vancouver, Washington. La Salle Catholic College Preparatory / Portland Thorns

Warta joined Gonzaga after a successful career at La Salle Catholic College Preparatory in Milwaukee, Oregon. In his three years of high school football, Warta was his three-year varsity letter winner, tallying 63 goals and 17 assists.

Warta has won many awards and honors throughout his preparation career, including being named to the All-Northwest Conference First Team at the Portland Thorns Academy, breaking the school’s one-season goals scored record (32), and being a final player in an OSAA state game. Honored. She also participated in track and field and helped her 4×100 team at school qualify for her 5A state championship in 2020.

Werta’s family has also competed at the college level, as his father, Greg Werta, was a football player at George Fox University and St. Mary’s College. Werner has been named to the Northeast 1A League All-Conference team three times and has won the Athletic Academic Award three times while honing his GPA 4.0. He leads Freeman High School in assists for three years.
