Just a year ago, Martin scored the biggest win of his career against Mikey Garcia, effectively leading him into retirement. Lopez Sr. is fully aware that expectations for his famous son are very high, but he’s urging the public to temper their speculations.
“Something I don’t understand. My son beat the guy who retired Mikey Garcia. And everyone was like, ‘Theo didn’t look good, or Theo was supposed to knock this guy out.’ It’s like. You can’t knock out a man who doesn’t go to fight even if he tries to. There was no chance for us to drop this guy. ”
